Be sure to stop by the welcome wagon forum and introduce yourself and yell us a bit about your truck!
I am not sure on front hubs that big of a truck, on all my jeeps and my Suburban (all 1/2 ton axles though) you greased everything to keep it lubed but there was no gear oil in it.
I am sure someone will come along that is familiar with your model and year of truck. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 9 | the reason i thought it might need oil in the hub is it has a drain plug or filler plug in the hub | | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,063 Big Bolt Forum Moderator | | Big Bolt Forum Moderator Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,063 | it very well could, I am not sure and do not want to steer you wrong! I am sure we'll hear from some of the other members in the next day or two. As well as the knuckle cavity, upper/lower king pins.
If you have oil in there you have a leaking axle tube seal and it's washed the Grease out.
And Welcome.
