Also, is there any difference between NOS (new old stack) and NORS (new old replacement stock) ?

They had slightly more HP due to the difference in the potential power loss with the automatic. They likely had a different cam profile and hydraulic lifters.

NOS and NORS are usually parts intended for the same application. NORS is sometimes used to indicate a non-GM part manufactured back when the vehicles were daily drivers as a replacement for a factory part- - - -Like Blue Streak or Standard brand ignition products instead of Delco etc.

NORS is an New Old Replacement Stock part from some vender other then GM that never sold and stayed on the shelf.
Both are worth using if they are not rusted or have rubber in them. The types of rubber used back then don't seem to last. Also be careful when shopping, some " NOS " parts are actually returned parts that may not have fit or had some sort of defect in them. Case in point, I purchased a set of NOS tie-rod ends for my '37, they looked new and the box was in good shape, but one of them wouldn't turn smoothly. No amount of grease would free it up. When I really looked at the parts, I could see where they were installed at one time.

you under false pretenses.
As Jerry said NORS means they where made back in the day when the car,
truck, was on the road during it's first life.
NORS doe not mean junk or gold.
What is important is does the part have a trusted quality brand name 50 years
ago, as Blue Streak or some cheap low quality junk.
And a good point was mentioned that some NOS parts can be in poor condition
depending on the materials made from and how they were stored for all those
