I have the original service manual and it only rates the truck at 1 1/2 ton ????
Some specifics on my truck: 1942 1 1/2 ton ???
: 216 cc and 4 speed box
: 160" wheel base
: single axel
:single speed diff with duel wheels
: The flat bed is 12 ft with 10 boards across
Quick note is that the truck is part of the blackout series that was built in Detroit as a R/H drive (sent to Australia) to help with war effort in 1942
I would just like to make sure i have all my info correct

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

Ton and a half truck empty weight of approx.. 7500/8000 lbs.
Depending on the bed.
Maybe a GVW of 12,/13000 lbs. JMO

thanks guys I think I will just stay with the 1 1/2 ton load rating because of what I know about truck ,and there is not a lot off info about the blackout trucks in Australia to verify numbers

I've noticed by collecting GM truck literature through the years, the Canadian built trucks, are rated higher/gvw, and Military trucks lower/gvw. I am not sure if the contract numbers help ID truck size ?????

were 2.5 and 3 ton.
There were a few long WB 160" 1.5 trucks made in the Art Deco years.
