Have any of you guys replaced the brass brake and or clutch bushings? Worried about just driving them out and then in without messing them up.

Thanks

If they don't come out easy I sometimes use a hacksaw blade to cut the bushing into and give it some relief. Then I put the new ones in the freezer for a little while and they practically drop right back in with l little help. Nothing to it!
........if you have the right size punch or socket you can drive the old bushing out OK but I rarely have to do that and some of the old bushing may be so worn that they are worn all the way through in on place.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Thanks Achipmunk, I drove my shackle bushings out with a socket but they were steel and not brass. If I ever get the hang of the pic posting here I'll have to post some of my frame, it looks like they drove the truck through concrete from day one so when I busted it off the frame it came out looking like it rolled off the showroom floor. I even had to wire brush off some of the original frame paint to get to bear metal and not a rust or pit spot anywhere, wish I could say the same for the cab.
