I am looking for a water pump or rebuild kit for a 270. I know that there were three possibilities for the pulley size. I measured today and mine is the middle one size.
In an old post there was an Airtex number given but Napa was unable to come up with one - the guy said most likely because there haven't been any rebuildable cores.
Does anyone have a number or place that I could turn. I have searched the Internet to no avail (I'm not a fan of ordering a NOS one off ebay with a seal just as old as my failing one). Can you tell me about your distributor? I rebuilt the one that was on the floor of the cab when I got my truck and now that the head is done and carb rebuilt and everything is buttoned up, I would like to try and start it. But thats not gonna happen right now because the new cap doesnt seem to fit right. I've double checked the part numbers and the rotor and cap are the right ones but it seems the rotor is too tall, and the cap is kinda loose??? By any chance, is there a point cover that sits between the points and rotor? Something like on an early Ford dist. That would explain the headache I'm havin??? Sorry I cant help you with the pump as this motor is pretty new to me.
