After having this for 14 years and no time to work on it or get it running, I have recently been able to get it running and driving. This truck is especially important because we grew up with my grandfathers/dads 1953 Chevrolet 1-ton stake bed. This truck was found by my dad and I back in 2003 and it was supposed to be a father son project, but as life goes, we were a little too busy
Thank fully we pried it from the PO before he but a mustang II front clip, ACK!!!

The details,
Engine
New rebuilt carb, all new fuel lines and NOS dual action fuel pump' converted oil bath to paper element air filter.
Ignition, all new wires (OE, no rubber boots); new plugs, points, condensor, cap and ballast; new AC Delco voltage regulator
Had to run aux oil line to fix starvation problem to the rockers

All new wiring front to back; all connections soldered, all wires covered with braided sleeve

Gauges reworked and functional; new temp gauge and 12v fuel gauge

Brakes
All new brakes, with new shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, new stainless steel brake lines

Interior
ordered new seat cover from the filling station, Spanish grain brown

Suspension
All new shocks and shackles; have some wild steering to work on still

Other than few last items to work on with door glass and regulators, this truck is pretty much ready to go. I will probably give it to may dad for him to enjoy, but only after it is 100% sound and safe for him to drive

Thanks for sharing. They may not be twins but they are definitely brothers! Way to go and nice of you to think of your dad.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
