Can someone suggest an aftermarket latch that is good quality? Don't really want a black painted one or chrome. Would prefer the zinc plated latch like the one I removed from the truck. Any suggestions or help with this would be much appreciated!

If not, turn to eBay. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Tim, is a 52 the same?? if it is PM me. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 863 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 863 | Alvin,
Thank you for the offer on the lower hood latch. Took my hood latch apart and found a local welder friend who was able to build up the material that had worn on my latch. Planning to clean it up good and reassemble it. If it doesn't work after the rebuild I will definitely take you up on that offer. From what I understand the lower latch assembly was the same for 1947-1953 Chevrolet trucks.
Thanks again!
