| | | | Joined: Nov 2016 Posts: 26 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2016 Posts: 26 | I have lurked here for a while if I needed repairs for our 56 Chevy 4400 or our 58 GMC 370. Both trucks I use on the farm daily. The 56 has a 350 in it out of a suburban and usually get used for things like water hauling and other easy tasks. The 58 has its original 270 engine in it and 77,000 miles. It gets worked pretty good - hauling dirt and grain both. 200 bushels really taxes the old six cylinder but she runs like a champ.
I'm attaching pics of my newest 1 1/2 ton truck. Grandpa bought this truck when it was a couple of years old and used it to farm. He then gave it to my uncle who used it to feed silage daily up until 1987. At that point he put her up on blocks in the chicken house. I just bought it from him. Not bad shape for farming since 1935. My uncle pumped up the tires and primed it and (gasp) "drug her around the yard" until it fired. Definately a little more brutal than I would have started with but I am surprised to find the 207 running after all these years. Anyway, I'm sure I'll have a million questions. From the searching I have done it appears '35's of this size aren't one that you see everyday.
