Posted this down the Gabfest section and figured I'd go ahead and repost here.

Annually my neighborhood puts on a Car Show as a fund raising event for local charities and families in need. Not a huge show by any stretch, but last year they had 90-100 cars in the show. Good times, Good folk.

Unless heii freezes over I'm going to try make this. Not sure how many southern bolters will see this and respond but it'd be nice to have a nice little gang. There are a lot of bolters in S.C., the edges of N.C. and Ga. as well as Fl. that could make it. Heck, maybe even a "note" in the greasy spoon.

Would be a great time to get a group of us together. There is a nice pavilion next to the parking lot we can use and I live close to it all.

Slowly getting ready for this...just got new wheels/tires..then my motor went ka-poot (heads are bad, but that's another story about poor quality control from Dart). Should be back up and running by early next month.

Turns out I'm going to be one of the judges. A friend of mine is one of the ones coordinating it on the BSSL and asked if I'd help out. Time to start taking bribs. hahaha.

Well, wouldn't you know....our family reunion, going on for 40 plus years is the first Sunday in May...Always. It just had to be on the same day. Guess what, this year it is at my nephews house which is in Canton Ga. I'll have to check his home address and see if he is close by. I'd still like to drop in if only for 30 minutes...

Awesome! I'd be curious how close he is to me. Canton is a little/big town. Would love to have you over, whether it's for the show or just at the house for a bit...so you can harass me for not having the chassis done I got from you a few years ago.

I'm in Bridgemill (show also), off of i-575 at sixes rd (exit 11). Technically it's Bells Ferry/Sixes Rd.

.... I just checked and the show is about 13 miles, 25 minutes from the family reunion. I'll be sort of late but plan to make it unless it's pouring down rain...

Alvin,
They are calling for rain all weekend here.
As you know, I'm still running Kansas plates, and as of today, they still haven't shown up. Mailed out on the 19th for a total of 6 miles to the mailbox in Kansas. Supposed to be coming from there UPS,but tags expire on the end of April. I might be walking for a while.
The good news...my building came today.

family emergency dictates I will not be there on Sunday, even if the weather clears. I'll check when I get back to see if the show happened or not.

Mike, thank you for the update. Perhaps we can get "everyone" together for a gabfest in the near future. Someone plan and I'll be there....and maybe bring a few with me!

....and it started raining here this afternoon.

I guess that this was a day late and a dollar short as the saying goes. I would have loved to have made the drive up to meet some folks. Maybe next time... I'm still getting my feet wet with this truck so I'll be around a while yet. :)
