The splines measure @ 9/16 inch the drum holes are for 7/16. I can't imagine that can be pressed in without enlarging the holes.

According to your measurements there is an eighth of an inch difference which seems to be quite a bit of difference.
The studs are bigger where they go into the hub but the threaded part should be smaller...and in my experience the drums holes are just a "tat" bigger than the threads.
Perhaps the place you bought the stuff needs to recheck the part numbers??

Hub and drum came off as an assembly. Does the hub go on the inside of the drum on 1951 -1959?

To help understand it better I can put the hub on the spindle and then put on the drum. My hubs have three little "pins" that will fit in three small holes in the drum when you put the drum on and twist it to line up studs. Edit: maybe this will help. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1954truck/54ctsm0306.htmlWhen reading the manual be sure to always make sure its talking about your truck as in 1/2 ton 3/4ton an so on. If you do not have a service manual I'd suggest book marking the Online Service Manuals for future reference.

Drum | | | | | Joined: Jul 2015 Posts: 135 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2015 Posts: 135 | I was trying to assemble the Bendix hubs and drums like the original Huck brakes with the hub outside the drum. The Huck drum and hub are like an assembly with the studs holding them together. The Bendix hub goes on the spindle first and then the drum goes on. I installed the studs in the hub the the hub on the spindle then the drum, everything seems to line up and fit properly!
I do tend to over complicate things at times.
