On my 1949 Chevrolet 1/2 ton I began reassembling the parking brake pedal and release mechanism yesterday. The release rod seems to be too short. I've installed the new leather floor seal, spring and felt seal. Parking brake will engage when flat bar is pushed all the way to the floor at the top, but then the release rod is too short and is not even close to the release bracket hole. Are there different lengths of release rods? The release rod measures 16 inches in length. What length rod do I need?

Pedal bushings...Re-attached the brake and clutch pedals yesterday. After installing the pedals, I noticed that the clutch pedal has a lot of side to side play in it. The brake pedal is snug. I read in a few posts that the pedal bushing don't fit and have to be modified. Does anyone make pedal bushings that fit properly without machining? Is it possible just to replace the clutch pedal bushing on the truck?

Any suggestions and advice would be much appreciated.

Tim

Anybody have a photo or drawing of the clutch and brake pedal assembly and parts?

Fixit, look at the parking brake items here and check the page. Sometime the parts list will give lengths on some stuff.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
