Jay,

Are you looking for that exact bed shown or the original Chevrolet bed with the ribbed sides?

What year?

How long is the bed?

as shown any length. Going on a 1952 6400. I will be making it shorter than the rear tire.

I tried my best, but I'm unable to make the trip to the WV yard on Friday.

George, do you plan on going to Frankie's on Saturday morning? If so, what is the ETD from the JYT HQ?

For those arriving Saturday morning, sometime around 9:00am should be fine.

Good to go on the Maryland contingent arriving around noon; we'll hit WV with gusto.

John, I'm hoping you will provide your famous Stovebolt beans. We will have pork BBQ with coleslaw.

All others- Bring your bed-roll, pillow, snacks and beverages... and mud boots.

See you tomorrow gents. Have a safe trip.

I love it when a plan comes together. It'll be extra sweet since we were snowed out last year.

Billy, I'm glad they finally set you free. Looking forward to catching up.

Hambone, I briefed Frankie that we would be executing "Operation Bed Pull". He said he would get his torch tanks filled by Saturday.

I've been planning a sneak attach but unfortunately my father in law is in the hospital. Victoria has been there this week and I am packing and leaving to go and relief her. I'll be gone 8-10 days. Bringing him home from hospital in the A.M. at least that's the plan.
However, it won't be a lost cause. I've been in contact with a couple bolters from that area and plan on trying to get at least a lunch in with them if I can.
I'll be in Shallotte, N.C. between North Myrtle SC and Wilmington NC.
You guys have a great time.

John and Hambone got out of here at 7:30 and headed to pickup Mike R and Mike B.

It's 21 degrees out here this morning but I think everyone has their minds on the 60 degrees we are suppose to have tomorrow.

Hope everyone brings their sniffle rags that are so generously supplied by Cosmo at Homecoming. wink

Have fun boys. If you run into troubles, don't call ......... hehehe

Reporting LIVE from JYT.

Success was the theme yesterday as the ODSS stormed the first yard with vigalence and might. Rusty parts stood no chance with these expert wrenchmen.

One discovery for me, and I think others has made a profound impact on life as a Stovebolter.

Butt coals. More details later.

Mr President
You have seemed to drift off in your recent post.
Could it be the result of some of the Presidential soda.

Hope I can partake in some of that soda at the Homecoming.

John, Hambone , Mike.B and I pulled into my yard with Farmdog on Johns trailer safely at 9:10 pm. Ol' Farmdog is a helluva tool for the junkyards. Very glad we had him along. Alot of parts were pulled for various projects. The highlight of the Friday eve meeting by the fire were the warming affects of our savior "Butt Coals". What a soothing and awesome invention. To the VanOrdens, Thank You for once again letting us come to your home and entertaining us. An epic time was had by all. And thank you to all my brothers who helped me get my monster undertaking of pulling parts for my needs. THANK YOU ALL.

Thanks again George, Joyce and Jack. Everytime we go to those yards, I seem to find something new (old). This time with an eye for blacksmithing projects, it was a treasure trove. Glad the bed and the 16in rims came home too. George keep an eye on the JY annex and if Frankie drags in some gold, I'd be happy to attack on a moments notice.
By the way, I am tired.

Yes, thanks very much to Joyce, George, and Jack for once again hosting us and for the tasty meals.

Thanks to everyone for helping me fetch a set of wheels, seems the warmup set a few years ago had us in fine shape, we may not even know our own strength.

It was fun, looking forward to another trip.

Pictures!

Let me know if you have any to add.

This year's Leader Board:

Roache -- Front half of a truck
Hambone -- Back half of a truck
Joe -- Driveline of a truck
Grigg -- Wheels and tires for a truck

All we needed was a cab and a frame to complete a truck!!

Every time we go to the Van Orden Home they never cease to amaze me. For Jack's banjo playing, to wash-tub basses and now BUTT-COALS!

Thank you Joyce and George for permitting us to stay in your home, tear up the grass, and leave with smiles.

Looking forward to the next one!

The VanOrden clan had a great time as well. If this wasn't the best JYT we've ever had, it was definitely among the best. Great food and fellowship that set the bar for future events.

Thanks to Billy for the crab; Hambone for the syrup and bottle opener; "Millimanjaro" for the "Beans RPG"; Cosmopolitan for his very presence, and the rest of the crew for the donations.

To the members of the ODSS: Go forth and procure metal seating units, in order to allow for future BC&B operations.

Its kind of like eating a York Peppermint Pattie (only different), or the warmth that washes over you when take a big swig off of a "clear" mason jar that came from the hills of Virginia or stepping into a hot tub (only with your clothes on), all emanating from, ahh, the aah, back of your front, if ya know what I mean. Does that clear things up? It's euphoric or in this case, buttphoric!
Guess ya had to be there.

Thanks for asking that question Tim.
I was scared to ask after attending last years HomeComing.
Sometimes I just don't want to know.
Hope to attend this year and will have more tools and work clothes.
Oh, and a lot of rags.
