Bought a new grille for my sub. chrome peeling off of original. Front clip is off. Any tips on how to install the new one? seems I remember having to work thru the headlight holes. trying to avoid this. Any help appreciated.

It can't be done. At least it always seems that way whenever I try to put one in. You need to loosen a lot of other nearby fasteners to be able to shoehorn the grill in without scratching the paint.
As far as access, you need as much as you can find, including through the headlight holes.

The one thing I remember about installing my grille is you need tiny hands with long fingers. My daughter in law helped with the last number of bolts.
