Hi guys,
I am new to the forum. I have a 1949 Chevy 4100 with a 235. Just wanting some help with finding some wheels like Dave Sheir has on his 1949 4400 that is pictured in the gallery. Thanks

Welcome to the site. Best thing to do is post an ad in the swap meet. Not too many people look in this forum to sell wheels. Good luck with it.

49 4100, Welcome to the Stovebolt. Someone in the Big Bolt forum may be able to help but Leo gives good advice. Post an ad in the Parts wanted for the rims......and maybe try contact Dave if he has a email address in his profile.

Here is the link for Dave's gallery picture.

Note, since you are a new member, and being moderated for the first 4 post you make, you may not be able to post in the Swap Meet Parts Wanted forum until you make 3 or 4 more post. So if you can't post and ad, wait until you make a few more post.
Bolters here can help so be patient.......

Okay,
so how about alcoa aluminums such as 22.5 or 19.5s? Any experience out there with adapting these to our trucks?

Welcome!

You should probably go over to the Big Bolt forum and ask over there. Lots of threads over there about wheels. Also do a search.

The wheels on the truck in that link look like the 8 on 6.5" 8 lug 1 ton wheels to me. I have had 3 1 tons with those wheels and still have the wheels. I did not think 1.5 ton had the same style wheel and I know the 1.5 tons are not 8 lug. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct, the pictured wheels with 8 hand holes are very distinctive 18" 1 ton wheels with 8 lugs. (He may be confused by what size truck it is?)

If looking for wheels for a 1.5 ton which will be 10 lug on 7.25" there are several threads and a tech tip on your options.

Only aluminum option short of having some custom made are Alcoa 19.5", no longer in production though.

Those do look like 5, possibly 10 lug 20" wheels. My guess is they were found on some older model trucks, like the one just pictured.

Yes, the truck I posted is a 41-47 GMC and the wheels are large 5 lug.
