I know some aren't even home yet from this years event, but I wanted to get this started before I forget. It was mentioned and lightly discussed about having some "other than truckshow" events to participate in, especially for the significant others. I know the Aldersons plan their Thursday night pre-show show and gathering for the Stovebolt group. And with enough preplanning, I'll be able to get down to KC earlier to make it happen next year. Another suggestion was to take a group tour of the Steam Boat Arabia museum down on the river front. I highly recommend seeing this amazing museum, which we could visit Friday during operating hours. There is also shopping and outdoor markets and a bbq joint right there with it. Google the museum for more information. There's also all the Truman memorials in Independence and old mansions to tour.
We can throw out ideas for the next year and settle on some sort of plan shortly before the show weekend. This may draw a few more participants and/or spouses to our event if they know it will be thoroughly an entertaining weekend. We used to try a meet, eat and greet at a bbq joint, but we out grew that.
