Hi all,
Started cleaning the leaf springs from my daughter's 1959 Chevy 3100 and was wondering if this shape of the eyes on the front springs is normal? Saw a couple of pictures on the web of newer looking springs with this shape-- so wondering if these need replacing or just rehabilitation?

Thanks,
Chuck

Are you talking about the shape of the eye where the bushing is inserted? If a new bushing fits somewhat securely, you will be fine. If the pin wore through the bushing and into the spring enough to prevent a snug fit, you would be better off with a new main leaf spring.

Thanks guys- the eye itself appears to be serviceable, I was just concerned about the outer spring wrapped in an unusual shape.

The second leaf is just a safety wrap around the top ( main ) leaf in case the top should break. Both look good enough to rebuild.
