Thanks, everyone, for participating. I'm new to forums, but have been getting a lot of good info for the restoration of my 55 GMC 100. This is the first time I've had a project which deserves this kind of exacting detail. Granted, I'm not about to do a frame up resto on the truck, but the truck is too original, and too much of a one owner ride for me to deviate from stock (darn :ohwell:) Thanks in advance for your patience with my fumbling to post photos and not hijack threads (though I'm sure this won't be read) Thanks, All, for a great site. I have so many questions I can't find answers for!

Welcome Ben, not sure if you are from California or Canada, doesn't really matter. Good sense about not deviating too much when it is still virtually stock. There are some real GMC experts here, be sure to ask if you need help. Good luck.

Thanks much. Home is North Carolina, company is Philadelphia, and job is Southern California. Off to Washington DC this weekend. On occasion, early in the morning, I'm not sure where I am either.

Can you guide me to the correct forum to ask where to correctly place a coolant overflow reservoir? Is that the "engine" forum? After that, I'm trying to find a correct dashboard illustration, so I don't place things in the wrong spot.

I don't want to stumble into dialogues and mess up convos for people.

Hi Ben, yes the engine forum. Don't sweat the correct forums too much. Some people automatically put everything in 'general truck', not a good idea, just use it if it doesn't fit in any other forum. Also, try to start your own threads as much as possible, unless you're answering someone else's question. We are very forgiving here in the welcome centre, try to help out.

Welcome aboard. That is a great truck.

Another good point is to try the search function at the top of the page. Quite often you will find multiple threads with questions and answers about the exact topic you are interested. Some people get a bit testy when you post lots of questions without searching for the info first.
