Is there a rubber strip that this retainers holds to seal the bottom part of the door? I can't seem to find any pictures. Thanks in advance.

Does the lip on the retainer hold the door weather stripping? Or is there supposed to be something else. Looks like yours strip holds the rubber?

There is not an additional seal under it. The retainer really squishes the crap out of the bottom of the door seal. Carl

I did put some 3M weather stripping adhesive to hold the seal. I don't want it falling out....EVER! The after market metal pieces are good but there was a trick to putting it on. If you study it a little you can figure it out. I put one screw in the end and then one in the opposite end and then "every other one" until I had them all snugged up. They are a little hard, or mine was, to pull down "into" the rubber. That's why I put one screw in it with the metal piece up "high" a little. Then pulled it down into the rubber. There is a thread from back then if I can find it that explained it better than I am now. I can't remember it all right now. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 506 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 506 | Alvin / Carl, Thank you. Thats it, it holds the bottom of the door seal, no additional rubber piece to stand on my head getting to work.
