Hey Guys,

I have a 46 gmc 1/2 ton. I am starting restoration on my cab, I just noticed that the rain gutter has rust between it and the cab and the rust is starting to spread the two apart.

Has anyone fixed this problem?

What is the best approach.

I was going to remove the rain gutters and clean all the rust, but is there an easier way?

Also, what's the best way to remove the rain gutter?

on my 37 they were so bad I took them off. I found some late models, with the chrome trim, has just about the same "curve" and would look great and work good. check out a few trucks at a good used truck lot to see if you can replace yours with a nice shiny one

how about with the task force series? (55-59) I looked inside mine and I think the back of the cab leaks at the rain gutter for perhaps water getting into the cab? It looks like the rain gutter is stamped into the shape of the sheet metal, so this might be a good time to just clear it off and bondoglass that bit to seal it (not like you could see it bondo'ed as the truck is so tall)
