Hi, I just picked up a 1957 6100. I don't know much about this truck and I didn't even know I wanted one until I seen it for sale. If anyone can point me in the right direction for parts, repair manuals, or a more appropriate place on the forum to help me get this project started

Welcome travo. The best place for you to go is the "Big Bolts" section. Just scroll down the forums and you'll see it.

We want to know more about this truck too. Does it have a V8? What kind of shape is it in? What do you intend to do with it, put it to work or just cruise?

Let us know how you make out.

Leo

travo, welcome to the Stovebolt. Lots of information and guys willing to share live here.
For parts vendors check out the Links section. There is also an online manual site but may or may not have your big bolt manual. However, most vendors offer shop manuals and assembly manuals at a decent price..... a must have for working on these trucks.

Good luck, see you around the shop forums.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Travo, there is a lot of stuff that works on the little trucks and the big trucks. I also get a lot of info from the other guys projects as well. I usually end up visiting all the forums! There is also a lot of members here from Ca. Maybe some even close by.

Glad you discovered you wanted one! grin
Welcome to the Bolt! As was mentioned, be sure to check out all the forums, but especially the Big Bolt one. The engine and electrical forums also have a lot of good info if you need help in those areas.
