Nothing wrong with an IHC. My father used them for tank wagons as well as pickups until his brother started selling GMC. I have run International Diesels exclusively for many years and currently run about 15 of them. They earn the money so I can buy old GMCs to pay with. I recently bought a 62 and a 65 cabover International like the one I drove a million miles myself. I'm gonna build one out of the two. Looks like yours is very complete and there a re a lot of guys working on similar ones.

Thanks,Guys! The owner says it runs good,hoist works,and,(from the pic's,) looks straight,and rust-free! The box is nice,to boot! That ding in the L.F. fender is the worst of the body,as far as I can tell. It needs tires and brakes. That's a MUST-HAVE,anyway,so, the price is RIGHT!! Looks like it might be fun,trying to find brake parts,but a member of "www.oldihc.org".,has a post on brakes,for HIS '48 KB3! Seller's a MEMBER of "stovebolt.com"!! I've seen some of his posts,in "E-Bay/craigslist",in the "Swap- Meet" forum. . Ken's going to transport the truck to me in mid-April! Fair price,too! I'll link a video,as soon as It gets here! Boy,do I have my work cut out for me! I should've checked parts availability for these things,before "taking the plunge"!! I just contacted a few of the IHC specialty parts stores,and they mostly cater to the Scouts and Travelalls. That'll teach me! Next time,I'm going with a G.M. project! IHC parts are CRAZY expensive,besides! on my '67 1000 1/2 ton,I needed a distributor cap, (Delco).The parts guy,(back in '86),quoted $32.50. The cap looked like a small block,(302) Ferd,so I paid for the Ferd cap,($4.50)and it fit! On a Delco distributor!! Like AMC an Studebaker,they were good at weird swaps! Looks like I'll be doing a bunch of parts swaps on the '48,too. I'll let you guys know,on the "Tons of Fun" forum. THANKS!!

Willy,,, I believe I know where you found this truck..... Nextech classifieds out of Kansas, no? I revisit this site from time to time and the most recent showed a Corn Binder very much like yours. Could be there's another just like it, maybe... Also, Willy, in your photo bucket stands a proud Studebaker big truck. Studebakers are my (secret passion). I own a 1962 1.5 ton from Iowa. It is a 14' flatbed w/hoist, a grain toter. 259 2bbl. V8 w/ 4 speed. Also own an 1959 Oklahoma half ton short box Studebaker Transtar PU. 4bbl. Stude 289 w/3sp.overdrive. This truck is currently undergoing restoration. Excuse me, I believe that I am beginning to pirate this fine GMC site. My apology.
