My thought was that it would save a lot of time over hammering. I was looking at the H&S 5500. I'm looking for your thoughts on this plan and if anyone has experience with this welder. As always, thanx for your help. 59 Apache

The metal is just too tough back then to pull dents close to a bend or a seam. Maybe a better welder will do heavier guage sheet metal, Scott | | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 259 Member | | Member Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 259 | When I'm working at the shop on older vehicles with thicker metal, I switch to larger studs on the uni-spotter so I have more pulling power. They sale the studs in 2.0 mm, 2.2 mm, 2.5 mm and I believe 2.6 mm. They don't always pull out dents especially on corners but it doesn't hurt to try before you crawl have to pound the dent out from behind........."when you have access that is"
