I am leaning towards a 1985-1990 700R4 transmission. What would be the best rear axle ratio for this combination? Carl

It's my understanding the tailshaft (4 bolt) can be changed out from an earlier mechanical speedometer tranny, even a 350, to install the mechanical speedometer gear.

Lower first gear ratio. The 700R4 has a lower first gear that the 200, 3.06:1 in the 700, 2.74:1 in the 200. Also, the 200 was never used in full size trucks.
