Finally saying hello after stalking all of you for a little while.
After a lifelong dream of owning a 54 Chevy truck, I have finally made the purchase I have dreamed of. I looked for years only to find a bucket of rust, or a truck out of budget. I look forward to getting to know some of you as I go through my journey of learning the nuts and bolts of these old trucks.

A big welcome to another Southern Stovebolter. The 54, with its one piece windshield is a fine looking truck and lots of part are available for it. Nice choice.

Be sure to post us up a picture when you can..... and if ever in S.C. stop by for some hot dogs and a cold pepsi....and be sure to watch for other bolters from around your area. I know they are out there, uh, down there smile

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Welcome, did you have a '54 in your younger years? Quite a unique model year, but a fine looking truck. Have fun with it.

@terrytucker: By lower Alabama, I mean the lowest part. The coastline, Mobile,Al.
@1953panel: A friend of my older brother had one of these when I was young, and I fell in love with it. I didn't learn what year it was until I got a little older, and the search began. I soon found out how hard these were to find.
@achipmunk: I might just do that. I have a sister living in Columbia. I also plan on going up to Maggie Valley, N.C. Towards the end of the summer.

5smittys, going to Maggie will bring you close by. I also have sister living in Columbia.
We southern bolters even have a little gathering in Columbia during the summer. Maybe the times will work out for you sometime....and "waynevert" has mentioned one coming up fairly soon in Fla. which may be even closer to you?
