im looking to buy a chrome plated water inlet. ive seen some advertised as fitting SB chevy, do these also fit a 235?? all the adverts ive seen online list fitting v8 but not 235...are they the same?

also i have heard horror stories that aftermarket ones corrode badly, has anyone bought a good one?

They are not the same. On an SB engine the t-stat housing is cast into the intake (or block not sure which). The 235 has an external housing. There are a few different housings so finding a chrome one may take some searching.

I've had my share of the bad aftermarket ones at the outlet.....or maybe its just my luck. The chrome ones seem to somehow always leak. I had one that wasn't "flat" and one that cracked...but several that leaked on chevy small blocks but not sure about a 235.
