You can oil the speedo head, yes there are tips for that. Use search. And last if it stops when the cable nut is backed off, then trim the inner shaft with a flat file. Just a bit and see if that helps. Some replacement cables are just a bit too long.

(my speedo repair man actually did measurements and showed me the difference. Had him make me the inside cable and have been worry free ever since) | | |
