Looking for advice allowances for the seat height relative to steering wheel. Stock seat sat about 12" high. I have some Caravan buckets that sit at about 14 which definitely looks out of place. I could cut the seat riser down and weld in new steel floor pretty easily. If not these seats, then what?

I measured my Chevy Trailblazer seats, seem to be a good fit. Unfortunately, the inner brackets are shorter, so the base would need modified. The good part is that they have the seat belt integrated in the seat.

Some late model trucks have integrated seat belts in the seats too. Check Ebay for 2004 and newer F150 seats.

ADlifeSupport, I used the seats out of a 2003 king cab Silvarado and bolted them on top of my riser with no problem. The driver is electric which is nice and the seats have built in seat belts and also arm rest that fold up and down. Some pics are in my photobucket.

Note: to bolt the seats down I used bolts long enough to go all the way through the riser and out the bottom. Then I put some big washers on the bottom for re-enforcement in case of a head on collision.

When I was looking I couldn't find anything decent at the local salvage yards so just decided to go new. I got the configuration I wanted and got to pic material to match my interior.

I just bought 2 1999 Silverado seats with built in belts. I have read here they work out well. Unlike Achipmunks, They are all manual. Have adjustable lumbar, headrests, built in seatbelts and the seat cushion adjusts up and down. Mounted on hardwood 4x4's, they are 14"tall. It's a tad bit tighter sliding under the wheel, but being a little higher is actually a real nice feel. Your a little more over that big steering wheel. I like it,and I'm 6ft tall.. Got em of Craigslist or 50.00 for the set. Super deal. They cleaned up great. I drive mine almost daily. More than the seatbelts, I like the headrests. I have always been afraid of getting rear ended. Nice protection.
