We made it through St Louis okay and and have made camp for the night.

I stopped in Indy and took my family out to supper, it is amazing how kids can grow, my granddaughter was not there at first and when she came in i was not sure it was her. my only mishap was when i thought i had bird droppings on the truck was a fairly large stone chip. the amazing difference the cooler weather made on the trip home, did not feel i had been on the road for 10 hrs. We never leave town, so getting out in public is sort of strange for us. We met some amazing people. Kind, generous, and very friendly. You all are just the community we appreciate. Its an honor being a member of this amazing community. Thanks for a great day in KC. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will make a point to be there every year from now on. Thanks for a great time!

But that wasn't the last of the problems.
Today, about 15 miles north of Decatur on a farm road, a rear tire blew. There is no shoulder on this road. I had to pull onto the grass right-of-way. And the jack is in the suburban. Pretty soon a good ol' boy stopped and looks all through his work truck with stuff scattered everywhere in the bed and tool box and he can't find his jack. He left and pretty quick another good ol' boy in a Lincoln Navigator stopped. His ol' lady was driving and she was nervous as a prostitute in church. But he got the screw jack out and even jacked it up for me. Lucky I was on dirt. The jack wouldn't go high enough to get the spare on so we dug a hole for it. Got 'er done and the ol' boy wouldn't even let me buy him a 6 pack.
I am glad to be home from that trip.

I know it was a trip to come but I'm glad you did it, too. It's hard to explain to people just WHO Stovebolt is. But events like this ... well, after you have been there, you don't need 'splain nothing!
Glad you and Vietta made it (found us).

I still want to learn about the HEI system change over you were ready to do. That is something I have never done before.

Just a note to say what a wonderful time we had in K.c.! It was GREAT to see familiar faces and some new ones! Thanks to all for making my friend Joe feel like one of the group and tagging him with the A.K.A "The Driver"! I am positive that without his efforts I would never make it there!
Great conversations, so much to see and take in, and most of all relaxing! My son, David (D-200) had a great time as well!! And yes..... my boy is STILL talking about it to all his friends!!!!
If anyone has not made this trip, they are missing out on something special!
Thanks for a GREAT TIME,

It was good to see you and David again. You both seemed a lot less shy than last year! That's good.
I think it's great now for camping in the park - opens up some options.
It was a very good time.
