In a box of extra parts I found a Grote 966-7 turn signal switch which I am unsure if it works or not. I found online what I hope is the wiring colors for these 7 wires. My question is, where do the turn signals get their power from? 4 wires go to the bulbs(RR,RF,LR,LF) ,1 to the brake light switch and 2 to the flasher. In addition, if there are two pig tail wires out of the actual turn signal lights(outside on the truck) how do I know which one of those wires do I connect to from the turn signal switch. I realize this is probably a basic question , but Id rather not fry anything if I do not have to.

I incorporated it into my American Autowire harness. Grote's color codes/schematics are different than Signal Stat's. If you want to find out the proper schematics for your particular application,you may contact: Grote Industries 2600 Lanier Drive Madison,Indiana 47250. Phone:1-800-628-0809 Business hours are Mon.-Fri. 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. I called them several times,and were very helpful. They even "E-Mailed" a schematic link,which I was able to copy,and use at the job site! The one wire marked "P",(Pilot),may be terminated,if you're planning on using your dash indicators. Your white wire should be "Ground".Hope this helps!

One wire is for the brake light/turn signal (brighter of the two filaments), and one wire is for the taillight (dimmer of the filaments (if the above is true). You wont hurt anything if you hook a wire from the brake/turn signal, and one wire to the taillights. If they're hooked up backwards, you just wont get the noticeable difference in brightness between the brake and turn signal. if that's the case, just switch the wires around
