Myself and Modeleman( Jake Groby) have been around here a long time. I've met a number of other bolters that live near me (Sclor)Steve, in metairie, Marc, in Baton Rouge.

Here in the New Orleans area there are a lot of chevy/gmc trucks riding the streets, plenty of shows to attend ( there are shows every weekend ) within a 50 mile ride.

Who are you? Where are you? Let's start talking amongst ourselves. I'm sure we all have some knowledge to share with others.

Cruisin the Coast is coming up in October, I know it is in Mississippi, but that is not a far drive and many people from here attend. Let's try and get together and meet one another. Maybe we can meet up with some Mississippi bolters at Cruisin the Coast.
I have met a few Mississippi bolters over the years also. They are generally nice people although they may talk a little funny.

My name is Camile Trabeau and I'm new to the site. I have a '38 3/4 ton Chevy that's been restored. I have plans on going up to Cruising the Coast this year. Never been but I've nothing but good things. I'm going up the Tuesday night and gonna cruise the Wednesday and Thursday. Not sure I trust my old truck on the heavy days of the Friday, Saturday and Sunday cruising. But would like to meet up and meet some other bolters. I'm new at the classic car world but I've been wanting to join in years. Finally bought me a truck about 8 months ago.

Camile, welcome to the Stovebolt and to the Southern group. This is the best site on the web for lovers of old GMC and Chevys. It's a lot of fun and great folks to help when you/we get in trouble. Happy trails.

Hello Camile,
Welcome to the best place on the web to find old chevy/gmc trucks. Everyone here is freindly and alway willing to help.
Where in louisiana are you? From the sound of your name I'd say west louisiana. I'm in Metairie, suburb of New Orleans, I will be going to ctc on the first sunday then back wed/fri. I go every year haven't missed one yet, be prepared to be speechless when you see that many old vehicles in one place.

Tommy, I know where you are at. I now live in French Settlement in Livingston Parish. I am originally from Sorrento which is in Ascension Parish. My buddy and I went to this years Mecum Auction that was in Houston and at that one I was speechless from all the old cars there. It was almost old car overload. I heard about this site from VCCA Chat. I am very new to classic cars and only "semi-mechanical" so I will need all of the help and advice I can get.

Thanks Jeanie, I get this all of the time, I am actually a guy. From South Louisiana we have French names. if you notice my name is spelled with 1 "L" and not 2. 1 'L" in Camile is the masculine form where 2 "L"'s is the feminine version. But I'll post one here soon.

Randy, welcome to the Stovebolt. Sounds like you have an interesting project and rearing to go cruising.
There are bolters in the La. area. No sure which town your in but I do see La. posters in the forums although they may not visit here often. The Southern area is a big one so watch all the forums. I'm sure you will run into them.....and I'm sure there are many that are not to far in other area's.
