Do any of you have experience driving in a 1/2 ton chevy with a hydraulic clutch? What are your impressions, and pros and cons. I have one and not sure if I want to repair it or ditch it.

if they are operating properly, they will work fine. sometime the master or the slave need rebuilding or replacing. neither is major.
the other is that you may have a clutch that has seen better days and may need replacing.

Those old hydraulic systems were good. They are simple & cheap to put a kit in the master & slave cyls. & will work good for many years.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Got one in my '62. No problems. Frankly, since the clutch fork sticks out on the passenger side of the bell housing, hydraulic is the only option.

I have one in my 1960 Apache and it works great. The JC engine code on my 235 six cylinder says its a heavy duty clutch (4 speed) if that makes any difference. Its a synchronized original trans. I can't say that there are any cons.

Correction: I have a '61, not a '60. They are the same hydraulic clutch.
