What are your impressions, and pros and cons. I have one and not sure if I want to repair it or ditch it. | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 787 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 787 | if they are operating properly, they will work fine. sometime the master or the slave need rebuilding or replacing. neither is major. the other is that you may have a clutch that has seen better days and may need replacing. ron | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | Those old hydraulic systems were good. They are simple & cheap to put a kit in the master & slave cyls. & will work good for many years. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Frankly, since the clutch fork sticks out on the passenger side of the bell housing, hydraulic is the only option. | | | | Joined: Apr 2014 Posts: 51 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2014 Posts: 51 | Do any of you have experience driving in a 1/2 ton chevy with a hydraulic clutch? The JC engine code on my 235 six cylinder says its a heavy duty clutch (4 speed) if that makes any difference. Its a synchronized original trans. I can't say that there are any cons.
