Ordered a pair of rear fibreglass fenders for my 40 Chev 1/2 ton from Superior Fibreglass products in Oregon. They don't even come close to fitting - much lower, and longer than the old stock fenders. Superior says they are right part # - anyone have problems in this regard ? Suggestions for alternate suppliers ?
Thanks guys !

I ordered a metal fender from chevyduty. I didn't like the fit. I sent them an email with pics and they sent me a fiberglass fender at no charge, which fits better. Neither the metal nor the glass aftermarket fenders were as good of fit as the originals though. I had to do a bit of banging to get the fiberglass fender to fit properly but I guess that's to be expected. Try chevyduty.

For fiberglass fenders you may want to try R&R Fiberglass in Tenn. If you need the # I can round it up. Used several of there fenders, running boards etc and never been disappointed. Fit good, and have good weight. Fellow to talk to is Richard Keller. Found #....423-476-2270 they also have a web page. Prices are good to.

I tried to find R&R on the web, no luck. Do you have the web address?

TWE56 is right on with the address. If you do business with them let us know what YOU think. All my dealings and all their products I've used has been great. They have a catalog available and if you call, he will send you one...and I think you can do it over the e-mail. Keep us posted.

I might add that their fenders are hand layed and not maded using a spray gun. Folks who make them with spray guns usually end up with off or inconsistent weight, low places or thin spots. My .03 worth.

I had a pair of fiberglass for my '37 that was just like yours, to long and low. It comes from pulling them out of the mold while they are soft. They then "lay out" as they dry. If you could smush them back to the right length they would be great, but once they have cured it out of the question! I sent mine back and bought from R&R as well. They did fit alot better but the radius cut out for the front tire was terrible. It looked like they did it by hand! This would have been OK if there was enough left to smooth, but it wasn't. I ended up reglassing the edges and adding the lip that was cut off. It was getting to expensive shipping them across country and waiting weeks for replacements. Joe
