Had to get an early start this morning to meet John down the road. Left about 6am to a nice cool, 60's morning. Nice day for a drive.
Pulled in to meet John and George B. and his son in law were also there. I'd sent George a note late last night but he got it in time.
We ate, then drove on down to Branhams Junk Yard where Jay was waiting on us. Jay also became our personal guide in the yards. Thanks Jay.
John scored a nice steering wheel and some other pieces so he is a happy man plus his confidence in his truck is building up for more cruises.
Lot to see in those junk yards but the Tin Worms are working full time. One yard had an old shark nose Graham and a Morris Minor that I would not be surprised to see Jay take home one day. Lots of OLD stuff in one yard. It was also nice meeting Roger Branham. Nice guy to chat with and I'd like to have the running 31 Chevy he had sitting in his shop!
Stopped and had lunch then off to the Plaza. We were the first to get there but the crowd started coming in about an hour later. Plenty there for everyone to see so if you didn't go this time you better plan on meeting there in the future. We had a small shower that kept the temps down. Lasted maybe 5 minutes or so and was gone.
While there we got to meet Big Ol'Dawg and his lovely wife ,Beth. She and Johns daughter, Haley, became best of friends.
Man, did Ol'Dawg ever score a nice ORIGINAL 53 pickup. Farm fresh and in grrrreat shape. Oh, did I mention it was in great shape

Also met lgc there. We had a nice chat before we left later in the evening for home. John and I trucked it on back home about 6:15.
I have a couple pics and I know Jay/John may have some to post. I'll put up a couple after I get them downloaded.
So, it was John and Haley, George & Davy, big Ol'dawg and Beth and myself along with lgc. I also meet a bolter who did not even know we were coming! I told him he needed to check out the bolt more often!!
It was a good day, fun time and we need to gather there again. Plenty of room and lots of eye candy. Made some new friends and introduced some nice folks to Stovebolt.com
Thanks to everyone. For those that had a change of plans at the last minute you sure missed a fun time.
