Hi all,
I am currently working on restoring a 1955 3100 to original condition.
I would find it very useful to have access to someone's "photo diary" of a similar restoration.
Anyone help?
Thanks.

Welcome to Stovebolt. You have come to the right place for info on your restoration.

Your truck can not be restored to original condition. It was in original condition when it left the factory. It can be restored to factory specs but they are only original once.

Satchman, take a look in the Gallery for your model. Those who have pics in the gallery will usually have a link to their photo account with restoration pictures.... and if you have a question about a particular section, like say the seat covers, you would post a question in the Interior forum and someone may have a pic of just that segment but not the entire truck. However, don't give up. Visit often and keep your eye on the lookout. What you need is here!

Satchman,

Take tomctomc up on his offer...his restoration pdf is something I keep on my desktop and open most every day for inspiration. It's well written and full of pictures that actually show critical stages in the process.

And it's fun. His is an amazing truck. Good luck on yours.

Jim

Tom, Im not the original guy on this thread but would love to get a copy of your restoration record if you don't mind. My email is [email protected]. Currently doing a full resto on a 55 3100 (gen 2)

Moderator note: Requests such as this should be made by PM or Email. Since Shank is probationary I can't PM to tell him or this would be deleted. Other personal requests will be.
