Hi Phil, welcome. I read your other post, cool to have a '40. I like that style a lot. You're right about where to post, just find the correct forum and start a new thread. Good luck.

A little bit of history about my 1940 Chevy 1/2 ton.Reading the vin code it was made in Oakland Calf in March and was the 7093 on off the line.It was sold in Idaho and spent it's time there. In the early 1990's a man from Twin Falls Idaho started restoring it.Have alot of pictures of the restoration. He finished it in 1994 and entered it in the ATHS Show in Spokane in May 1995.Early pictures show the truck with the original paint as Apple Green with Black fenders.Body was very straight except the left rear fender was customized by something. It had no rust issues.Original 216 engine, transmission, Pine wood bed are still intact. In 2001 my brother-in-law bought it from him and kept it until he sold it to me in feb. I don't know the history from 1940 to 1990. Submitted some pictures hope I got it right. Phil

Phil, thanks for sharing. That is one nice looking pickup. Be sure to do a DIY Forum report so Peggy can put it in the Gallery.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
