The headlights were working about a month ago. Is there a headlight relay and where is it? Does it sound like the headlight switch is bad?

The headlamp switch has a built in circuit breaker for the headlamps. Try checking the connections at the switch, could be a loose connection. Also check the wireing at the lamps themselves. There is a ground wire up there, could be that, too.

I think the headlights go from the the light switch through the dimmer (hi-lo) switch, so that might be something to look at too. About the dimmer switch, funny thing is I didn't even have a dimmer switch and the headlights were working.
I have a new dimmer and wire that I haven't put in yet.
I bought a new headlight switch, since it was cheap, and went to put it in but now I can't get the old knob out. I'm pressing the button and pulling but it won't budge.
