All the lights are working except the headlights. No blown fuses in the fuse box. The headlights were working about a month ago. Is there a headlight relay and where is it? Does it sound like the headlight switch is bad?

The headlamp switch has a built in circuit breaker for the headlamps. Try checking the connections at the switch, could be a loose connection. Also check the wireing at the lamps themselves. There is a ground wire up there, could be that, too.

I think the headlights go from the the light switch through the dimmer (hi-lo) switch, so that might be something to look at too. I have enclosed a link...it's for a GMC, but it might crossover to your C10. http://www.6066gmcguy.org/Electrical-01.htm Stuart | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 1,703 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 1,703 | Start with a voltmeter or test light ...i would bet on corrosion ...and a bad ground .just start at the switch an follow the current ...till it stops . | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,756 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,756 | I had the same problem, checked it out as noted above. Found I had kicked the wire to the dimmer switch partially loose. | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 25 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 25 | I had a similar problem with my truck...I had a short in my hi/lo switch. I put in a new one, and all was great!

About the dimmer switch, funny thing is I didn't even have a dimmer switch and the headlights were working.
I have a new dimmer and wire that I haven't put in yet.
I bought a new headlight switch, since it was cheap, and went to put it in but now I can't get the old knob out. I'm pressing the button and pulling but it won't budge.
Thanks for all the advise so far! | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 17 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 17 | Hey! The headlights are working! Turns out somebody just shorted the connector to the dimmer with a piece of wire and it fell out. | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 | Let there be light....errr, lights!
