Bolters,
This was a daunting task for me but it is done except for final shims and RTV. I want to thank members who encouraged me along the way. I am truly a novice.

It is a hybrid T5 made by combining a V8 Camaro and an S10 T5, both were NWC.

It will connect to my speedometer cable so I can still use my original 1965 C10 instrument cluster. It will also come thru the floor in front of my bench seat and since it has a V8 Camaro input shaft it will not need any adapter plate.

The gearing is very nice and with all original Borg Warner gears plus a rebuild kit. First is 2.95 and 5th is 0.73 for highway cruising at comfortable RPMs.

Jay, for some reason I am not surprised and think you should now refer to yourself at least as an Experienced Novice smile

......for those who have never met Jay he has many talents, as well as being a super nice guy, but don't tell him I said it!!!

Nice job Jay.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

I took a 1984 Camaro T5 and modified it - something called an S10 conversion. I did it so the shifter would be closer to the engine. The Camaro T5 has the shifter location too far back and if used as is, the shifter would come up through the floor under the bench seat of my truck.

Not bragging, but my rebuild is a hybrid. I used the favorable gearing of a Camaro T5 and combined it with an S10 shifter location. I also used the S10 main shaft so the drive gear will be in the proper location for the cable speedo driven gear. That allows me to keep my 1965 instrument cluster.

I made the announcement to show other folks on this forum what can be done by combining a Camaro T5 with an S10 T5. I'm not the first person to do it. Many have done it before me, but I rarely see detailed photos that document the process.

I have no bragging rights and I sure don't want to be seen as blowing my own horn. Just thought that others who were considering the T5 as an option for their older truck would benefit from seeing the steps I used to accomplish it. I've outlined the major steps on my website.

I mentioned before that a I followed a rebuild guide with pics that helped me quite a bit. But, your pics are clearer than those in the guide! I suspect novices like me(and you) will really find them useful. Thanks for that.
