# 1 plug is at the front of the motor. ( radiator ) .
If your truck has been sitting for 15 yrs , then there is potential for the fibre cam gear to have failed . It may have just slipped a bit on its steel bushing , and be putting your timing irreversably out of kilter .
You can check this by following the timing instructions in the book , and ( with the rocker cover off ) checking the valve opening stages .
Maybe the dist has just moved a bit , you did check to see that it was tightened down ?
