Regarding that wiring diagram...wouldn't I have to take apart the bundle to trace all the wires? They're all neatly wrapped in electrical tape, and I don't really want to cut it open if I can avoid it. Are you saying the manufacturer may have screwed it up?
I think it's possible. For example (I'm making up the numbers and wire colors, but the point remains), the instructions say to connect wire #8 a certain post on the light switch. The wire is brown. Then further down in the instructions, You're to connect wire number 8 to a certain point on the distributor. However, this wire number 8 is blue. Now, I'm pretty sure the wire doesn't change colors somewhere inside that bundle. Perhaps you can see my confusion?
