My bad. The 1948 to 1951 truck manual (page 1-1)refers to "the AD UNISTEEL cab, the four major panels (the cowl, the back, the top, and the floor),with numerous reinforcing panels and braces, are all welded into one permanently rigid, integral unit." Now my opinion about structural integrity has not changed, as a serious blow to any part of a UNISTEEL cab will be transferred throughout the cab. So the cab is like a chain, it is only as strong as its weakest link. I do however like the idea about gluing on the bed angle strips, since the don't really do much.
