I started out with a 195 degree thermostat, then switched to a 160 degree one.
I took the rear drain out and poked around thru the hole with a #12 bare copper wire; I broke something loose because all of a sudden a bunch of trapped rust colored coolant gushed out. When I poke around now and pull the wire out it is covered with black gunk. I think tomorrow I'm going to push the truck outside and try to flush out the engine cooling passages with the garden hose.
What path does the coolant actually take as it goes thru the engine?
