July 26, 1992 MCRD San Diego (funny how you remember that day!)
Ended up stationed in Beaufort, SC with VMFA 533 as a ejection seat mechanic for F-18Ds, or Egress Systems Mechanic if you want the proper name.
July 27, 1996 Out and back to Oklahoma
After arguing with the local reserve unit, ended up with the 205th EIS at Will Rogers in the USAF ANG
Moved to Houston and transferred to the 272nd EIS in LaPorte
While in the USMC, went to Aviano, Italy in support of Operations Deny Flight/Provide Promise in 93 - 94. Came back did mini deployments to Yuma, 29 Stumps, and Virginia. Went back to Italy in 95 and left a pregnant wife at home. Watched as our squadron located Scott O'Grady and provided cover while he was rescued. Came back 2 weeks early and just in time to see my daughter born. Lost two Captains in a crash about 3 months before I got out in 96. Only saw the results of an ejection seat once during my 2nd trip to Yuma. Was glad to see that Captain come around and shake everyone's hand. Great feeling knowing you helped save someone's life.
Went to Germany twice with the Air Force while being an Antenna Maintenance/Comms Support person. Pulled extra fiber optic cable when Kennedy nosed in by Martha's Vineyard and we were in Cape Cod.
From the sounds of things, I just missed Napco Man as my DI

Semper Fi and Happy 237th birthday tomorrow!
