Drafted into the U.S. Army 1967-1969, Basic training at Ft. Knox, KY, Advanced Infantry Training at Ft. Polk, LA.
Sent to Vietnam in 1968 and assigned to the 101st Airborne as a grunt. Wounded twice with the second one almost killing me as I took a direct mortar hit and suffered numerous wounds where I almost bleed to death on the battle field.
That was over 42 years ago and I count my blessings every day.
