My 49 is stock except for a 235. 3 speed, 4:11 rear end and 650-16 bias-ply tires. Have owned it 14 years driven around town at 40 mph and once in a while it goes on the highway. I sit fat, dumb and happy at 55 mph. I am of the theory if it was designed by a bunch of GM engineers to operate as it does then why would I need to modify it. My opinion.
