The salt air wouldn't do you any favours,especially being blown in horizontally!
Do you still have the vacuum wipers?

My trucks my first 'Yank' and a Ca. truck too,imagine if ours had spent 60 years here in Blighty,there would be nothing left!

I agree with the clear coat though,it would be a shame to lose that originality,mine had great patina too,but the importer must've had a job lot of red lead paint!
