Hi Fellow Bolters! I just read a thread from another website, from a guy that is thinking about adding an aftermarket oil-filter to his 235. I had that same idea, when I first purchased my '55 2nd Series 6500. The answer that I received from my mechanic was:"DEFINITELY NOT!!" Our trucks were designed to operate efficiently with regular oil- change intervals. Adding an aftermarket filter only filters about 10%,anyway, plus you have to drill holes in a perfectly good block to do so. If you don't remove all of the shavings, it would cause pre-mature engine wear/failure,which would be the reason for adding a filter in the first place! PLEASE...Don't fix what ain't broke!
