The InnerLine filter only works on low-pressure 216/235 engines. One advantage of this type of filter is that it needs no hoses.
The 55-2nd series engine referred-to in the first post has no oil distributor. Nonetheless, a by-pass canister filter will work with any year 216/235 and 54-57 261 engines.
