Looking for some opinions. I'm sitting on 2 nos Rochesters that I've been planning on using on my soon to be built 261. There are a few qualified people (here, and some that I know personally) that tell me that the Rochesters are problematic. Although, I've had good luck with the stock one currently on my truck which can get over 20mpg and runs GREAT with no leaks.
I've come across a couple of matching Stromberg BXOV-2 carbs and have been told by a ford engine builder that these would be good candidates for my new motor and dual intake, and he knows how to make them work well. He also know how to make the Rochesters work but sez the Strombergs have advantages.
Any of you here have experience with both? What are your thoughts?
One advantage is the Strombergs already have is that they fit the late 30s' Chevy aircleaners I want to use. I would have to fab an adapter for my Rochesters to fit the same cleaners.
